Marullah Receives Visit from Libyan Ambassador to Indonesia at City Hall

Jakarta Deputy Governor for Culture and Tourism, Marullah Matali received a visit from Libyan Ambassador to Indonesia, Zakarya Muhammad El Maghrabi at the Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/11).

 Especially for me who has been on duty since 2013

On that occasion, Maghrabi said that Indonesia has a special place in the hearts of Libyans, especially on Independence Day because at that time Libya was one of the countries that supported Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945.

"Especially for me who has been on duty since 2013. My two children were born while on duty in Indonesia," he expressed.

He explained Indonesia has a good historical relationship and a lot of cooperation between the two countries has been established, especially in the fields of oil, education, and development.

"Until now, many companies from Indonesia have cooperated in Libya. Since 2022, hundreds of Indonesian students have been sent to study in Libya," he explained.

The meeting itself held today was very good and often carried out like brothers and sisters.

"We also want to establish cooperation between the two capital cities, namely Jakarta and Tripoli," he stated.

Matali added that the Libyan Ambassador to Indonesia conveyed some hopes, including that the name of Tripoli city would be in Jakarta. Because, the names of Jakarta, Bandung and the first President, Soekarno have been used as the names of protocol roads in Libya.

He added the Libyan Ambassador to Indonesia would also invite the Jakarta Government to cooperate with the Tripoli city government in several fields.

"Libyan Ambassador heard and appreciated the arrangements for cleanliness, parks and road construction and so on in Jakarta which can be input for Tripoli city," he stated.
